In the case of a limited liability company for which the financial year coincides with the calendar year, the deadline for preparing the financial statements expires on 31 March, i.e. 3 months from the balance sheet date.

Subsequently, the report is subject to approval by the general meeting of shareholders within 6 months from the balance sheet date, i.e. by 30 June.

The reporting deadlines in 2024 are:

31 March 2024 – preparation of financial statements

30 June 2024 – approval of the financial statements

15 July 2024 – submission of financial statements to the relevant court register

In the case of companies whose annual financial statements are subject to audit, it is important that the agreement with the audit firm is signed before the start of the annual inventory of significant assets. The statutory auditor does not actively participate in the course of the inventory, he is only an observer. The audit firm is selected by the general meeting of shareholders. The Management Board is only entitled to sign an agreement to audit the financial statements.
